Residencies

International writers are invited to stay at two residences in Denmark.
Applications for these stays should not be made to the Arts Council’s Literature Committee, but directly to the residencies.

• Copenhagen Artist in Residence (AIR)

In Denmark’s capital, Copenhagen AIR offers international writers a residency of 1-6 months duration. The international writer in question must be invited by a Danish publisher, a Danish cultural institution, or the like which also must apply for the residency. Copenhagen AIR provides an apartment and working facilities in the Factory for Art and Design (Fabriken for Kunst og Design) which, in cooperation with Copenhagen County, is sponsoring the project. • The Danish Writers and Translators Center in Hald

Hald Hovedgaard in 2008 will be inviting international writers to Hald during specially-designated international weeks.  Hald Hovedgaard is located in the country-side in Jutland, situated in proximity to lakes and woods.  Applications from writers should not be directed to the Arts Council but directly to Hald – read more on www.haldhovedgaard.dk (though the website is at present only in the Danish language) or contact Hald in writing at
