General Funds

There are two annual application deadlines: April 1 and October 1.  

Normally, support is only provided for events, publications, seminars, etc., in Denmark. In exceptional cases, however, the Danish Arts Council’s Committee for Literature may subsidize the publication abroad of Danish works in translation and events, etc., that have a special focus on Danish literature.  

Applications for translations must contain a relevant budget, the name and CV of the translator, a sample text, documentation of the rights to the translation and publication, the size of the print run, and marketing considerations. 

Applications for other types of projects must contain a description of the project and a relevant budget.  

There is no application form.  

Applications will be processed by the Danish Arts Council’s Committee for Literature.  Applications submitted in a timely fashion by the stated deadline will receive a written response no later than three months after this deadline. It is not possible to provide a telephonic response on the status of individual applications.  

The application will be rejected, if the project or event for which support is sought has taken place by the deadline for which the application has been timely received.
